IOM event on the Contribution of migrants to the society (Brussels)

The IOM Country Office for Belgium and Luxembourg organize an event to illustrate the positive contribution of migrants, in various domains and to highlight some concrete examples of their contributions to the host societies at the international, European, and Belgian levels.

Background information

Earlier this year, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) has launched a world-wide campaign on the contribution of migrants in view of correcting common misrepresentations; articulating a more balanced, and positive view of migrants and of their contribution to societies; facilitating migrant integration and reintegration, and make it easier for governments and societies to reap the considerable positive potential of international migration. Event

What?

Key presentations will be followed by workshops and debates focusing on different angles of the society such as socio-cultural integration, the labour market and migration and development.

During the cocktail, information stands of IOM’s partner organizations (including the European Migration Network - National Contact Point Belgium), will be displayed; movies and photo exhibitions on migration in Belgium will be shown.
